Wee Puffs – Concise Book Reviews

We have only done a few book reviews on our blog, it has been mainly tv shows, film, event reviews and opinion pieces but now that I am researching in the area of publishing  many more books seem to be coming our way. I have discovered that when people from the industry give me free books I feel obliged to comment on them and also to pass them on for others to read when I am finished.  Hence last nights Tweets and this blog post (basically to record the tweets and provide some context).

Concise book reviews should express what you have to say  meaningfully, creatively and quickly.  I prefer a book review that evokes place, emotion , opinion rather than overtly outlining the story so these 140 character reviews should be enough to express myself, right?!

The Healer by Antti Tuomainen.

Quietly intriguing yet petrifyingly realistic. Greed & survival vs truth & hope. Well translated. Read it.

Gone Again by Doug Johnstone

Well paced Edinburgh thriller.Emotions ran high as drama unfolded. Read it in 2 sittings! Satisfying.

The Snowman by Jo Nesbo

Very visual. Dependable. You will never look at a Snowman the same way again.
