Interview with Birger Larsen, Director of The Killing

I thought this was very interesting:

‘Larsen, who films Nottingham’s streets through a searing red filter, was struck by how aggressive he felt the city was. “We used the colour of blood.’

As the Killing was filmed with very little red left in the film so that the bloood would appear very very red when the audience saw it…
